Executive Summary
RV Sinkler delivered a turnkey Combined Heat & Power resiliency upgrade for Fort Riley, installing eight 35 kW CHP systems with 280 kW of combined generation capacity across four building groups. Each system was engineered to base-load the facility's existing thermal demand, including heating, hot water and dehumidification loads, while adding on-site natural-gas-fired generation capacity designed to keep critical systems operating during loss of grid power.

Engineering Resilience Into Critical Facilities
The Custer Hill Barracks presented a distinct resiliency challenge. Without backup power, the attic-mounted air handlers would shut down entirely during a grid outage, potentially requiring evacuation of troops from their living quarters.
RV Sinkler engineered a solution that integrated CHP thermal output with the barracks' existing air-handling systems, allowing the buildings to maintain safe, breathable air during an outage without unnecessarily oversizing the generation equipment.
